Hyundai Creta & Venue Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) Checklist
The Hyundai Creta continues to be India's undisputed king of mid-size SUVs, while the Hyundai Venue dominates compact urban mobility. Both models boast premium fit-and-finish, but stockyard storage conditions, weather exposure, and transport loading often result in transit scratches, minor bumper misalignments, or battery drain. Here is your definitive PDI checklist.
1. Exterior Paint & Parametric Grille Checks
- Parametric Chrome/Dark Chrome Grille: Inspect every interlocking slat on the front grille for transit stone chips or hairline stress fractures.
- Horizon LED Positioning Lamps: Turn on all daytime running lights and connecting lightbars. Ensure no moisture fogging or dead LED diodes.
- DFT Paint Gauge Scan: Measure all 4 doors, bonnet, fenders, and quarter panels. Hyundai factory paint ranges from 95 to 120 microns. Variations exceeding 180 microns indicate dealer repaints.
2. DCT & IVT Transmission Fluid & Smooth Shifting
If you have selected the 1.5L Turbo Petrol with the 7-speed DCT or the 1.5L NA with the IVT (CVT):
- Engage reverse and drive with the foot brake held. Ensure smooth shift solenoid response without shuddering or delay.
- Check the engine bay for clean battery terminals, full synthetic coolant levels, and zero oil seepage around the turbo plumbing.
3. Digital Cockpit & Bluelink Connectivity Verification
- Verify that the dual 10.25-inch curved cockpit displays are free of dead pixels.
- Check Bose 8-speaker audio clarity and test voice-enabled panoramic sunroof opening.
- Confirm that dealership has provided both smart keys and the mechanical emergency backup key blade.
